Magic wand of tech-led marketing

This weekend morning I was browsing the internet over a cup of coffee when my eyes got stuck seeing an event invitation in Facebook. It was an invitation of inaugural programmme of a restaurant owned by a friend of mine.
With sheer surprise and happiness, I was recollecting that even 6 months ago, he was in distress and facing hardship with his small food corner as the business was not doing well because of its inability of connecting with the mass people despite it served tasty food.
It was months of failure until my friend made a breakthrough. He started promoting his restaurants in social media - Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and others platform and soon the whole business bumped up. Continuing with that success today he is opening his new restaurant whereas he started from a small food corner. Recalling his story I was cheered up, why wouldn't I? It's so great and blissful to see your friend succeed, isn't it?
Hearing success stories are such a pleasure! The story of my friend recalled another story in my mind from memory lane. 
- A lady from my neighbourhood whose husband died few months ago was going through much agony with her two little children. She had no idea how she will earn bread for herself and her children; however she made through it as she started providing lunch box for offices. With help of a Facebook page she has reached to the customers and at present she is operating her business lucratively. 
Is it a coincidence that both of the people were succeeded by means of "Social Media Marketing"? The answer is no, cause it has become such a common phenomena. We all know that the traditional marketing tools don't work anymore and the whole marketing system has entered a whole new era . The Social Media Marketing concept is trending since there has been an invigoration of digitalization moreover the number of social media users is spurring. We all are more or less acquainted with the terminology "Social Media Marketing", it is ever present. But have you ever took a minute and thought why is it trending these days and for what causes it is becoming indispensable in order to attain accomplishment? Let us today take some moment to give a thought regarding it. 
Well the answer is pretty clear, for the reason that social media marketing is simple and effective. But why and how? There are some significant advantages the social media marketing offers which are making it more and more efficient. 
Firstly with the help of social networking websites the individuals and business can interact with one another and build relationships with communities online. It gives them the opportunity to construct a two way communication with the consumers which is more useful and valuable for the business. 
Secondly social media marketing provides businesses with the chance of target marketing making their jobs a whole lot easier and this happens to be possible as, through social networking sites, companies can stay in touch with individual followers hence they can instill a feeling of loyalty into followers and potential customers.
Thirdly social networking websites allow the business to build virtual communities that permit consumers to express their needs, wants and values online. Social media marketing thus connects the consumers and the business by helping it to comprehend the customer's point of view. 
Even if social media marketing concept is trending in the world for a while; however Bangladesh is catching up with this notion lately. Nonetheless we have immense prospect in this segment and some of our social media marketing firms are doing commendable work. If we talk about the statistics, almost 56 million of our population has access to internet according Bangladesh Telecommunication Regularity Commission where around 30 million people use Facebook. In simple we can imagine that Facebook becomes a 'synonym' of the word internet.
Most of the social media marketing in Bangladesh is done at facebook since it is the most widely used media but it's high time our social media marketing firms delved deeper. 
The country is moving faster. As a result, soon other social media will be famous and if one wants to keep pace with this acceleration he must consider this fact. T
he government banned some social media including Facebook in November last year which brought a topic in spotlight that it is high time we started to concentrate on other media like twitter, Pinterest, Instagram.
There are some well spotted benefits of these media which we are missing out. For instance, twitter is known for hashtags and keywords moreover the word limit on "tweets" makes feed become easier to go through which yields to better filtering of information. 
Again LinkedIn is a site for professional networking; nevertheless we Bangladeshis are using this site but not actually utilizing it to its full extent. For both business and individuals, here they can publish blog posts, connoisseur write-ups, associate with prospective customers, give a gesture of their work and promote themselves plus their website. Instagram helps in depicting messages through images which can be shared with the world. On the other hand YouTube has turned into a platform for people to promote themselves online and exhibit their skills.
People should not be mistaking thinking that Facebook marketing is not being adequate however the harsh reality is we are stuck in that blue-white world only and failing to discern the magic of other alternative media. To safeguard our journey from good, better to best we must embrace all other potential opportunities and make our work range broader.
Social media marketing is not 'just' a marketing tool in this present age rather it has become an art of 'story telling', reflecting people's journey towards success. 
So you better use this magic wand so that you don't lag behind in the competition!
